It also addresses challenges related to aligned, conflicting, or duplicating projects within the same implementing agencies.5Local Government - A Development Vehicle for Community ProgressThis workshop aims to examine the intentions, development objectives, and regulatory framework of local governance, conducting a reality check of current circumstances to identify gaps and draw conclusions. Drawing from successful examples worldwide, it seeks to guide participants in enhancing local government structures and practices to foster greater local interest and development.6Hygiene: Current Trends in Hygiene Management with special emphasis on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)To promote General Hygiene and Menstrual Hygiene as part of school health programs to enhance sanitation practices.7A discourse on the Proactive and Resilient Management of Urban / Municipal Sanitation and Flood SystemsThis workshop aims to facilitate brainstorming and solution-oriented discussions on the intertwined challenges of sanitation and flooding within the context of urban planning and spatial development. It seeks to foster consensus and proactive approaches to addressing these issues, particularly in planning, constructing, and maintaining resilient systems.8Liquid Waste Management: Applicable Standards in Septage DisposalTo train Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) members (septage carriers, emptiers, laborers etc.) and MMDA staff members on standards for safely collecting, conveying, and discharging faecal sludge. Additionally, the workshop will include a special session on emptying bio-digesters.9Sanitation Safety Planning for Urban managersThis workshop is designed to equip urban managers with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and implement effective sanitation safety plans in urban environments. Participants will learn about the principles and practices of sanitation safety planning, focusing on identifying and mitigating risks associated with sanitation systems to safeguard public health and environmental quality.10Effective Performance Assessment and Reporting for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) using the NEW District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) IndicatorsTo train Municipal and Metropolitan District Assemblies (MMDAs) on performance assessment and enhance reporting on indicators, with a focus on the new District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) indicators. Target audience includes Chief Executives, Coordinating Directors, Planners, Engineers, Accountants, and Administrators.11Public Health Disaster Risk Management with focus on WASH in Community EmergenciesTo develop skills to minimise the transmission of diseases through fecal-oral routes during public health disasters, and understand the importance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) as a priority response action.12Improving Sanitation Delivery and Reporting through the new Performance Based Grant System of District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT)This workshop seeks to enhance Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies' (MMAs) understanding and implementation of the new performance assessment and reporting requirements outlined in DPAT. Additionally, it aims to integrate these requirements within the context of improving sanitation delivery and reporting. Furthermore, it seeks to foster awareness and appreciation among key MMA officials for teamwork, leadership, collaboration, and improved relationships, all towards the common goal of enhancing assessment and reporting practices. Lastly, the training aims to advocate for greater emphasis on sanitation within DPAT indicators and the allocation of DDF funds towards sanitation improvement and reporting efforts.13Urban & Spatial Planning -The bane of our challenges with physical development, its management and financingTo enhance understanding of the pivotal role of planning in development and explore a multi-faceted approach to redirect our development trajectory towards greater achievements.14Economic Progress through the Tourism Development GatewayThis workshop focuses on harnessing the potential of tourism development as a gateway to national economic progress. Participants will explore strategies for leveraging tourism resources, fostering sustainable tourism practices, and maximising economic benefits for local communities and economies.15Sustainable Solid Waste Management: Towards Circular Economy and Cost Recovery Models of Sustainable Solid Waste Management (SSWM)This workshop seeks to facilitate an appraisal of current frameworks and practices for sustainable solid waste management across Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs). It will encourage analytical discussions on the future of solid waste management within the context of the circular economy and emerging technologies. The workshop will further develop a framework and roadmap for implementing strategies and interventions aimed at achieving full cost recovery for sustainable solid waste management.16A Roadmap to Urban City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) Management for GhanaTo improve participants' understanding of the importance and challenges of holistic sanitation management in urban areas. The workshop will develop a clear and comprehensive process map for achieving City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation in urban areas. It will further illustrate the economic and social benefits of successful CWIS management.17Understanding, Deploying & Managing City Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) for MunicipalitiesThis workshop is designed to explore the emerging concept of City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) and its implications. It seeks to develop a framework for successful CWIS deployment. Additionally, it aims to identify assessment and evaluation tools to guide deployment decisions.18Assessment, Evaluation and Data Generation for a City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) Implementation Decisions for MunicipalitiesThis workshop focuses on providing municipalities with the necessary skills and tools for making informed decisions regarding the implementation of City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) initiatives. Participants will learn about assessment and evaluation methodologies, as well as data generation techniques essential for planning and executing CWIS projects effectively. The workshop will feature practical sessions including completing the WB CWIS ONLINE ASSESSMENT and EVALUATION TOOLS.19Effective Promotion of Sanitation Services in URBAN and SLUM Community ProjectsThis workshop focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills and strategies to effectively promote sanitation services in urban and slum communities. Participants will learn about tailored approaches for engaging and mobilising communities, overcoming barriers to sanitation access, and fostering behavior change towards improved sanitation practices.20Concepts, Planning, Design and Construction of Transfer Stations and Land FillsThis workshop provides participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the planning, design, and construction of Transfer Stations and Land Fills. Participants will learn about key concepts, regulatory requirements, and best practices for ensuring efficient and environmentally sound waste management infrastructure.21Operation & Management of Transfer Stations and Land Fills including Sustainability and the Development of Down Stream BusinessesThis workshop offers participants comprehensive insights into the operation and management of transfer stations and landfills, focusing on sustainability principles and the development of downstream businesses. Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills essential for effective waste management practices and maximising the economic and environmental benefits of waste disposal facilities.22Managing "Behaviourial Change" and "Community Mobilisation" in Decentralised Project ImplementationThis workshop focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills and strategies to effectively manage behavioral change and community mobilisation in decentralised project implementation settings. Participants will learn practical approaches for promoting positive behaviour change and fostering community engagement to enhance the success of decentralised development projects.23Sanitation and Food Safety ManagementThis workshop focuses on the principles and practices of sanitation and food safety management in various settings, including food establishments, production facilities, and community environments. Participants will gain insights into the importance of maintaining high standards of sanitation to ensure food safety and public health.
